Cracked Heel

The cracks in the skin of the heels are very often caused by hyperkeratosis, dry skin and lack of flexibility. Cracks appear as small dry scratches, which under load are subject to deepening, exudation or bleeding. Very often they may cause pain.

The reasons for the creation of disorders within the hydrolipidic layer may be diabetes, kidney disorder, obesity, vitamin deficiencies, abnormal position of the skeleton, or improperly fitted shoes (too hard sole).Treatments at podologist have to eliminate disturbances within the hydrolipidic layer, improve skin condition, remove or smooth cracks. An important role in the therapy plays the cooperation of a client and podologist, because appropriately selected home care formulations have a very big role.
